Better grip tyres.

Hello again.

The front tyres on my Nuevo ES provide no grip on grass and are about ready to be changed due to age. Can anyone recommend some tyres which both grip well and do not effect fuel economy, please?

PS tries my gas fire out in last nights gale with it's new flue extension, and it coughed a bit once but didn't blow out. Cannot wait for a test in open country.

Never been impressed with Pirelli as far as grip is concerned on any surface.

We had Continental Vanco's on our last fwd van (Boxer) and they were ok unless the ground was very wet and you will suffer with any fwd under those circumstances. Michelin are a good tyre and like Continental do a motorhome suitable version.

You cant compare like for like with our Tranny as its rwd which tends to be better for grass/soft surfaces but that has Hankook tyres on as fitted by Ford new

Original conti Vancos were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard on the VW.

I fitted a pair of Gislaved Norfrosts and noted an immediate difference - they now chew up the campsite with ease

Seriously though, great grip under all conditions so far, and quieter than the Contis (except on Shellgrip at traffic lights) - just looking forward to the snow!

I've just had a set of Hancook winter tyres fitted on the Symbol. Not had any 'winter weather' to test yet. But my son has had them on his VW van for 2 winters, He runs his outdoor pursuits training business here in the Lakes, does loads of work in the Highlands too and swears by them, says they get him every where.
