water pump

Had a new pump fitted about 4 weeks ago and its make more noise than the old one . Also sounds like its vibrating on the wood fixing. If thats where its fitted. Anyone any no what I can do please.

It may have been tightened down too much, try slackening off the mounting screws. There should be rubber 'shock absorbers' (thick rubber washers) around the screws.

I had similar on my previous van and yes the mounting screws had been over tightened. It was still a little loud so I put a couple of levels of  carpet leftovers  on the board it was mounted on and this stopped the board from resonating

I have recently fitted an accumulator on the demand side of the pump.
I used a couple of lengths of the more flexible water hose rather than the rigid hard pipe.
It makes a massive difference to the noise of the pump and smooths the water flow.
Fairly easy job and cost about £30 in total

This reminds me of a job I must do on our Rienza. The water pump is under the wardrobe fastened to the other side of the bathroom wall. The first time management used the shower we realised how noisy the pump is. We mentioned this on the aftersales service and not no response.
A fellow motorhome user said he put a carpet tile between the pump and the wall it is mounted on. I fancy the idea of an accumulator if I can find room for it. The water pressure at the taps is a hard to adjust, it is a bit or drown you.   Our last van, the Duetto used to make the shelves in the cooker rattle when it ran. Good idea to turn the pump off at night.

I have just successfully cured the noise emitted from the water pump on my 2005 Inca EK. It involves removing the wardrobe floor panel to access the Shurflo pump. undo pump mounting screws and obtain a piece of plywood slightly larger than the pump mountings. Cut a piece of plasticised expanded packing used in parcels, to the size of the piece of ply. Glue (I used carpet tape) the packing to the plywood piece. Now glue the packing side in position to the side of the wardrobe. Remount pump and run. Check that the rigid plastic pipe does not vibrate against heater etc  .pack with packing pieces if necessary. Result one quite pump.
