solar panel fitting required

Hi members I am wanting some advise on what solar panel might be best for my motorhome and were I can get one and who to go to to fit it for me.
I am not sure if I need one permantly fitting or would it be best to have a portable one that I can put inside the vehicle windscreen and what output will I require.
I would like it to power my tv and keep my battery topped up when I go wildcamping and because I park my motorhome were there is no hook up I feel it may be a good idea to have solar as a backup so if you can advise me it would be much appreciated.
I live in Otley nr Leeds west yorks and I am willing to travel a reasonable distance to get the work done if I have to but because I am disabled I find it quite difficult to get to do these jobs that is why I am asking if a portable solar might be better for me so I just put it in to the vehicle then plug in.
Your help and expertise would be very much appreciated thank you.

Google "Roadpro". They are very helpful and deal in all sorts of solar panels and I believe they are in Daventry. They are at all of the motorhome shows

Have a look in the Maplins shops. They do a portable 40 watt solar panel. Its a fold up like a brief case. You can stand it outside facing the sun or put it in the windscreen if you are facing the right way. Seem to remember they where about £190 ish. Handy when outside as you can track the sun all day.

I've just installed my own 100 watt system and the cost of all the bits and pieces was just over £300.

The solar panel is fixed to the roof bars and to do this requires that you are 'able bodied'.

I would imagine for someone to do the total job would be a days work.

I hope this gives you some idea of the costs involved.

If you decide to go with the fixed solar panel. Do a search for "mounting a solar panel" where you will find my post as to how my panel is fitted to my van. As Ian said this involves quite a bit of climbing about on the top of the van.

Thank you very much for your advise so far it gives me something to look in to regarding different types of solar power.
I have seen some panals on ebay and amazon and some member had recommended Ring on one of the forums so I have plenty of choice by the look of it its just a matter of finding out which one I need power wise.
I particulary like the idea of a portable source providing the output will meet my requirements and it can charge both batteries by simply plugging in or attaching leads.
The portable type will enable me to remove it when and if I need to and transfer it to another vehicle to use on that, although I can see the advantage of having a bigger panel fitted to the roof bars its just finding someone more local to quote me for supply and fix.
Anyway I have something to consider now and thanks again for your help so far.
