I don't own an AS. However, an overbed reading light recently failed on my German van. I have replaced it with an almost like for like replacement but the new one includes a USB charging port. I'm also replacing the one on the other side so now have 2 additional charging points. Don't know if this is any help but this is the new light fitting https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07J4NJ72G/ref=twister_B01M336AM0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I bought a pair for £42.

Hi Rich ....     I couldn't see the back of the light  ....    does it run on a track for its electric connection or is it a straight wire job.?    I have similar ones in my van, but they slide along a track.   Thanks.

Hi Bob. It's a wire job. It comes with a backplate and screws for fixing then the fitting attaches with a tiny grub screw. For wiring there's about 6in of tails attached but no room in the fitting for connectors so these have to be done in a nearby cavity. Just finished the job and I hope I don't have to repeat it anytime soon.

Ha ha.... Thanks for this, it's my all time favourite film.
If AS made a van with a garage and fixed beds I might buy one again but sadly my needs have changed and there's nothing in their range that suits us now.
