Winterising 2005 Nuevo

Can anyone tell me the correct way to winterise a 2005 autosleepers Nuevo Es please.

Are you going to be using the van over winter ?

Two things you will find make life much more comfortable: a good external padded silver windscreen cover which will insulate the single glazed windscreen and prevent condensation inside as well as making a significant difference to internal temperatures on cold nights and insulation over the metal wheel arches in the under-bench lockers.  This prevents condensation on those cold wheel arches and stops everything getting damp down there.

Between trips always drain water from everywhere- waste tank, fresh tank, toilet reservoir, flush system and pipework. Leave taps open and shower head on the floor to drain. Stand cushions sideways on all under-bed areas to ventilate as well as leaving all locker doors and fridge open. 

We never put any heating on as, if the van is properly ventilated ( as it should be via various vents) then you will not get condensation and so mould.

Put a piece of polythene or similar under your windscreen wiper blades to stop them freezing to the windscreen and tearing. Some people use corks but this can distort them. We use off cuts from a silicone over liner.
 
We leave everything in the van ready to go.

Good advice - I remove wiper blades but put a couple of pieces of 22mm pipe insulation over the ends of the arms si that they can't scratch the screen. Wiper blades sit on top of the dashboard.

From bitter experience....

Whatever you do to stop windscreen wipers sticking it’s a good idea to leave a note on the steering wheel to remind you. Driving down the M4 in sudden heavy sleet is not the time to discover you have no wiper blades or they won’t move. 

Ditto the open taps. Sitting down with a welcome cup of tea on arrival is the worst time to discover the bathroom is flooded because you forget to turn off the tap and shower when you primed the water supply.
