2005 Nuevo sunroof
Hi folks, the blind mechanism on our '05 Nuevo seems to have given up the ghost.
It appears the spring has broken on the "solid blind" side (as opposed to the flyscreen side) on the main sunroof.
Primarily I need to know the make of the sunroof, that is, is it a Heki or Seitz as I can't find any reference in my handbook.
I did put a query on here a few months ago about re-tensioning the blinds but had no reply. Obviously things have moved on from there, which is why I need to know the manufacturer before I can proceed finding out about repair or replacement.
In hope,
nuevoboy.

Mines a 2006 and has a Heki 2 skylight. You can identify it from this website

If you open the skylight facing to the rear of the van you should see a makers stamp on the right hand side of the Perspex that is normally out of sight when the skylight is closed. On my 04 it's a Seitz.

Re: 2005 Nuevo sunroof
Thanks gents; you must both be part of a rapid response team!
Thanks to Paul's link, I've now identified it as a Heki 2 (made by Seitz) and have had a good look at the parts lists. It would appear that all parts are available for replacement but this would entail removing the inner frame to get at everything.
I think I'll contact one of the caravan service companies to see if they're used to stripping it down and identifying the required parts.
Incidentally, what was most significant from within the operating instructions pages was the following:
Caution!! When the sun is shining brightly, the
blind may only be closed 2/3 and the glass
dome must be fixed in the “permanent
ventilation setting”.
We've often closed the blind fully to keep out the glare from the sun (either with the vent open or closed) and it looks as if that could have been the problem.
I never imagined that the beautiful weather we have just experienced in North Wales could have had such a devastating effect.
Thanks again chaps.

Re: 2005 Nuevo sunroof
The instruction, not to pull the blind fully in strong sunlight, is to avoid excessive heating of the acrylic window causing permanent deformation of the window. Your problem is unrelated.
