Truma Ultraheat no green light

Hello to everyone, sorry I havn't introduced myself before now, no excuse! We bought a 2006 4 berth Neuvo about 6 months ago, ideal size for 2 + occasional grandchild.
This topic may have been covered before but it may be advice to anyone scratching their head with the same problem.
Everything was working perfectly up to about a week ago when the green light on the Ultraheat thermostat went out, it hadn't reached temperature as it had only been on 15 mins or so. I did the usual and trawled through the internet for advice and the general conclusion was that the PCB had gone faulty and would need to be changed at a cost of £85-£125 + fittng.
One piece of information came from an electronics guy who said to check the transformer before doing anything as these do go faulty but are the cheapest component to replace.
I checked the transformer with a multimeter and found it to be open circuit (set on ohms. the meter showed no circuit and no resistance). The transformer cost £5 + postage on ebay and was fitted in 10 minutes (4 soldered joints) unlike the PCB which took about an hour and a half to remove and refit after taking most of the wardrobe apart, everything working fine now.
Please note this repair involves working on 240 volts (switched off of course) and most people are not happy doing this, I was a commercial vehicle electrician before retirement so have some knowledge of electrics.
I hope this post has been some help if only to point out what could be faulty on the PCB apart from the relays.
