We had our last van for 9 years and did no maintenance on the awning.

If the mechanism winds in and out smoothly to your satisfaction, no problem. Just need to ensure material is kept clean of leaves, debris and crushed insects and if stowed away wet allow to dry at earliest convenience.

On my Kemerton XL I was using the wind out awning and it was fully out it ripped at the moving end. It looks like it went all brittle now I was not expecting that with a van that is not a year old.
As I would not think this us covered under the guarantee as I am sure they would say I was using it in too strong a wind.

I think I can fix it as it looks like it fits into a channel similar to a awning channel. With a solid centre and some self tapping screw.
It would just make it shorter.
Anyone have experience of this type of repair.

Good advice.  Once we parked under a tree and after using it the next time I found that I'd wound a seed in and it punched a hole in the fabric, now I always check first.

If you put it away wet, try and open it fully to dry ASAP, our old one had mouldy stains on the underneath as we didn't!

They are a great bit of kit though

I have resurrected this thread Chris, I think you have the integrated type awning on your van which is the same as ours. To be honest it has never been great and is often hard to get back in the cassette, it wasn't going back in properly just now so I cleaned the catches and added a lighter silicone type oil instead of grease.

It then went back in fine but I have little confidence it will stay that way.

I haven't figured out what the bolts that are sticking out where it is attached to the van do yet, some sort of adjustment I guess but how they work....?

Bet someone here knows though up!

I've noticed those bolts, don't know what they are for though.

The instructions to our Omnistore 6200 suggest these adjuster bolts are to set the angle or pitch to the roll out awning perhaps governed by the height of any van that it is attached to. Different heights refer to say a lower PVC set against a taller Coach build.

Just spoke to A/S and rose awnings after really great help from Marquis Plymouth ( they really are good as unfashionable as it is to say) Those 4 mysterious bolts hold the arms in place when the awning is wound in, nothing more. I was told there is no adjustment as such on the integrated awnings, just make sure they are well greased where they latch and you can try GENTLY bending the catch on the awning blade that winds out to make it latch better. IF YOU BREAK IT YOU ARE IN TROUBLE AS THEY ARE HARD IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE.

Yes, that's exactly the advice I was given when Charles Trevelyan was still running the Service Centre.
