Can anyone with a Nuevo clarify where the winding out handle for the Omnistor awning is kept / stored?

Ours was just kept across the front of the Luton bed (held in loosely by the straps that secure the bed netting). I have since used plastic clips to hold it just inside the door. This was only because we found a perfect place for our daughters hamster cage (on the shelf to to the left of the bed when its folded up) which then made it awkward to access the awning handle!

But the original place seemed fine (if you havn't got a hamster that is hugegrins ).

Our Nuevo is the low profile over cab so no luton, didn't really think of this until we got home from Cheshire last night and was wondering where it could be stored, maybe in the wardrobe? had both bench seats up to check inside nothing in them shrugg as the cushions, wine glasses, and crockery have all been removed by the previous owners (why do people do this?) wondering if they also had the winding handle away scratch head

I have fitted the 2 holding brackets in the locker above the driving area so when you lift up the door it lies just in front of you in the bottom corner of the base and the door panel with the handle in the upper position , It only just fits through the door but easy enough with care and as it is only used occasionally its kept well out of the way the brackets were stuck down with double sided carpet tape.

I cannot believe the previous owners have kept the additional items just shows what cheapscapes some people are , when you get their details from the VRD I would contact them drop them a line with your details asking them if they would mind you speaking to them as you have just purchased their old motorhome , and enquire where those items are as there could be a slight chance they were with the motorhome when traded on and the dealer has them stored somewhere for safe keeping . This happend to us on a previous motorhome when I enquired as to where the TV was and was told by the dealer the previous owner had kept it , but on speaking to the previous owner he confirmed it had been in the motorhome when it was traded in ,which had dissappeared at the dealership , but the dealer did give us another TV although it was not the same model.

Hi Nuevo...

Thanks for the storage tip regarding placing winding handle in the upper locker... The dealers have been very fair and we have no reason to believe they have removed the items, spoke to them during the week and thankfully they have advised that the winding handle after all is indeed present.

As for the other items being missing... from what I can gather it's not that uncommon, as it's been mentioned a number of times on the forum by other members especially with the wine glasses and crockery being absent, the dealer didn't hesitate to offer us another set of crockery out of another Nuevo so kudos to them for that at least. The Nuevo we are buying had also just been discounted by £1,750 just before we purchased it so you cant have it always as they say winks

Personally I recon that dealers should penalise owners of trade-in's if they don't have these items on board when they swap them in, then maybe people would think twice about their removal, when you are paying 30k + for a motorhome surely it's not unreasonable to expect things like the crockery to be present shrugg We always presumed that having all the tables, legs, crockery etc added value to an AS vehicle when it came to selling

We got a very fair trade in price so can only presume the previous owners of the Nuevo did also, sadly some people seem to be quite mean (reflection of today's society in general) and salvage all they can before parting with the vehicle, at least we can sleep easy knowing whoever gets our Trident will find everything present as it should be and more smile!

Hi all,

The awning winder in our van is stored vertically behind the driver's seat against the side wall by two clips. The previous owner had applied velcro to the swivel on the crank and it sticks to the end of the washroom wall which is neat. I presume reduces the rattle quotient on the van and perhaps stops the cranked handle from swinging around.

All the best,

Davy
