Up date, Thetford told me to pull fridge fuse (that I already had done) and replace it and fridge should work normally. Just done 2 nights at Chester not on hook up and fridge working fine. Also adjusted pump pressure switch and now pump stops running after water use.
We really love this van.

Just replacing fuse sorted it? Did you need a higher rated fuse or same?

Hi I thought about it. The fuse may be making a high resistance contact.Removing and refitting would help.

Wouldn't the high resistance still be there, same fuse, same set up? All this hi-tech stuff is meant to be progress???? My head hurts.

Even with the fridge switched off some of the circuitry is still active. Disconnecting the supply (pulling the fuse) and then re-connecting lets all circuits reset.

With my last Landy with ECU nightmares I had to disconnect the battery to reboot things and solved many an issue.

Unfortunately I'm not as I've not had my hands on anyone's Thetford fridge or an EC500 yet.

To reboot the EC500 you need to remove both leisure and vehicle battery fuses (6 & 7) and unplug the solar panel.

To reboot the fridge I expect you could remove fuse 5 on the EC500 - that is labelled permanent supplies and feeds any circuits (like the fridge control circuitry) that need power whether or not the EC500 is switched on or off and whether or not the engine is running.

The 12v heating element in the fridge is fed from fuse 5 on the EM40 (only available when the alternator is charging) and it looks as though the permanent supply to the fridge is routed from the EC500 to the EM40 and fused again in the EM40 fuse 7 - and I guess that would be the best to remove to re-boot the fridge and not affect anything else.

You can reset all the 12volt system on the Broadway from the panel under the bench seat opposite the door. Ther is an on/off button, just press to shut all 12volt down then switch it back on again. You will have to reset the clocks on the panel above the door.

On our model Broadway EB it's in the bottom cupboard next to the pull out table holder.
