Cold clear starlite night, everything has a layer of ice on it, footpaths, roads frozen. Dangerous conditions, even with Yaktrax on my boots.
Rain forecasted for this morning hope it thaws before it rains on the ice.  cold
Have a nice day,stay inside.

Icy here this morning. Off to my aunt's funeral in Fife this morning, last survivor of my parent's generation, at least I will get some time with my sister for a mask to mask catch up.

Stay safe

Very frosty this morning with heavy rain on the forecast for later. No plans for going out today, plenty to keep me occupied inside.

Take it easy folks  allthumbz

Lovely bright crisp and a little bit frozen in places. This mornings walk as a lot better for several reasons. Firstly I have found thinsulate hat mk1 in my old rucksack. Two I managed to walk on the less slippery bits and lastly muttly has sorted this slippery ice stuff.
There is a huge frozen puddle part way round the walk and he managed to walk across it to his favorite patch of grass. Normally he walks round puddles so it was quite funny watching him stopping in middle and sniffing the ice.
It didnt take long to clear the snow and defrost the Polo for managements appointment. Its nearly as good as our Saab was for cold starting and heating apart from the lack of heated seats.
The Rienza is coming home in the morning. It has been inside tucked up nice and warm all weekend so being left outside when we come home will be a bit of a shock. cold

Condolences Bilbo hope the day goes as well as possible.
Be careful out there in that ice and snow, or should I say on that ice, it is a bone breaker.
6 degrees down here, odd spot of mizzle otherwise a fairly still morning. Should really be having a walk but want to finish the last of the reno chores, door handles to fit etc.

Have a great day all  allthumbz

Condolences BB, none of our clan left either, only the youngers, take care on the roads.
Suns out here, cool breeze, suns not shining over the roof ridges ,so we are in a wee frost pocket.

Have you guys thought about studded ice shoes instead of yaktrax. Not sure you can get them here or not but I have always found on sheet ice yaktrax are pretty poor.

Here we are: GoreTex, and on hard surface the studs retract by being squashed into their mounts.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. Went as well as can be expected.

Safely home with a warming cuppa. Not going out again today as too cold.

I find YT ideal on frozen slush GH, I keep away from ice sheets.   up!   ,I can remove the YT before I drive the car and remove all the ice and crap from the soles of my. Boots.
Salt treated surfaces have thrawed ,however the side roads and footpaths are still very slippery.
Freezing again.

We've never stopped wearing masks up here, although there are still the "can't be bothered/what's the fuss/I know better" folk who don't. On our recent trip to Madeira, anyone going into a shop without one was very, very quickly challenged. Here, not so much  scratch head

Bit milder today, almost into double figures for a few hours until the cold stuff returns with cold, blustery rain. Big jacket, hat and gloves are de rigueur  happyyes

12 degrees here this morning but still a light mizzle, just enough to prevent doing the last of the leaf collecting and mowing.
Same for masks here, we have never stopped wearing them, we are miserable beggars though and rarely go anywhere indoors apart from the local Sainsbury's which we do very early in the morning to avoid everyone else. hugegrins

When we go out we tend to go, well, out and rarely spend time in pubs and restaurants. Much prefer walking on the beach or across the clifftops.

Strong NW wind but mild again, 10 degrees. Heavy showers in between the sunny bits, could be a lot worse for beginning of December. Should be able to get out and do some work between the showers, more pots to go in the greenhouse and hanging baskets to get down.

It seemed a bit warmer last night when we set off for our evening walk so it was fleece and no hat. Typically half way round the walk the rain started. Muttly stopped and looked at me but must have desperate so carried on to the grass.
It’s dry this morning but I won’t risk it so the big walking coat and hat will go on. Muttly has a bit of a thing about the towel so drying him involves cornering him first.

Started raining yesterday around mid afternoon and it's not stopped since. Don't expect any change for the foreseeable  shrugg

In the meantime, if I hear one more TV or radio presenter say, "can we save Christmas?", I may well inflict physical damage  rolleyes

Reassuring to have all these experts on hand  Whistle1

Much to my surprise it has turned out to be a lovely sunny day. Still bit of cloud about but it's dry so that will do.
