Between the steps up from the hab door and the side of the  fridge on our Broadway EK we have a slim wooden “ bin”. Over the years we have used it in a variety of ways but none of them very satisfactory.

What do you keep in yours ?

I’ve just bought from IKEA a Filur bin 10L

Stands against fridge side of the door as you go in to the motorhome

I have put a strip of Velcro so it doesn’t fall over
when traveling £7

Larger sizes available

Thanks Eltel, we happily use the Hartal door bin for rubbish. The one I struggle to find a use for is the narrow wooden one built in to the side of the fridge. We used it for outdoor shoes when we wore flip flops but now we have clogs and they don’t fit. For a brief period we kept wine bottles in it but it always seems to be in the sun when the door is open. At the moment it has the dustpan and brush, several used jaycloths, the cord and hook  used to tie door open and a mound of sand, gravel and dried mud that can’t be got out without a vacuum cleaner.  Not the best use of the space really.

I use the pockets for the AS manuals / instructions and crossword books, my wife shoves the sink drainer in there when not in use.

Must be different from my Nuevo: entering the hab door, on the left (fridge side) I keep my foam fire extinguisher; a little firther forward, there's a diagonal chrome handrail. To that I've secured a collapsible stool (held in place to the handrail with a velcro strip.

Above the handrail, the worksurface wraps around the top of the fridge (being not much more than an inch or so wide when above the chrome handrail. I bought a double bottle clip from AS, and the thermos and a bottle rest on that little shelf, held in place by the clips.

It is different to the Nuevo Cymro. I didn’t know that, I’ d assumed they were the same. The area where your stool is is all enclosed. The grab handle makes it difficult to store anything like a stool in there
and it is only one ( white ) wine bottle wide.

Barry, have you thought of downloading your manuals etc ? All of ours, even our bike ones, are online via manufacturers , dealers, convertors websites and I have them both in .pdf format on our tablets and .mobi on my Kindle. Easy to access as they come with built- in indexing and weigh nothing at all. You’ve given me an idea though to try it for guide and aires books, some of which are too big to go on the overcab side shelves.

Hi Quilter, I always download manuals etc even more so nowadays as most things you buy only come with a limited instruction sheet as per the electric conversion kit I bought recently for my bicycle.
And on a wet windy day it gives me something to read in the van.

The AS manuals and handbooks are online too...no need to keep hard copies in the “ bin”.

The Broadway EK also has the enclosed cubbys next to the fridge/habitation door.
Of really limited use.
Nice looking chrome grab handle, but I would need to break my arm to access it on the way into the van.
Table storage would be much more useful in that space. That would remove the scrabbling round inside a fully loaded wardrobe to get at the current Autosleeper table storage solution.

Had a look today. We keep shopping bags, bin liners, flip flops for showers, and lots of dog kit such as spare lead and collar, towels (microfibre) and a stash of poo bags! Quite useful really.

We did look at table storage but it would have involved too much irreversible carpentry unfortunately. The folding stool, exactly like ours, is a good one as ours lives in the underbed area in transit but suspect the grab handle is too low for it to fit in. I’d never thought of shopping bags which currently live, folded, on the shelf above the passenger and, if not tucked in well, tend to fall off onto the passenger.

Thanks all. I wonder what the AS designers had in mind for the space ? I’ve not met anyone who really has it totally sussed.

In addition to the stuff mentioned above (shower flip-flops, bungee for holding door back, etc, ) we have an umbrella and, most important, the long shoe horn!

Two years ago I found myself in Spain with new shoes that needed a shoe horn and miles from anywhere I could buy one. Two days later we had our Christmas dinner, pulling one of two crackers that I’d brought from home, the remains of a very old box full. Guess what ?  A shoe horn. It’s much too small to go in the “ bin” but does the job perfectly.

Our boot jack used to go in the “ bin” but we don’t need winter wellies any more .
