Peugeot Boxer water dripping onto engine

Please don't start two identical threads as it always leads to confusion. I've deleted the other thread from the wrong forum.

There was a cover made for the engine if I remember correctly, but you would need to check with your Peugeot main dealer. I think it was a free upgrade, but there was so much confusion at the time I can't remember in detail.

There was a join in the middle of the scuttle of earlier Boxer 3 vans, and if that's your problem it's not too difficult to make a much better job of sealing that joint. I cleaned ours off as well as I could and used black Sikaflex with strips of mesh to lay over and under the join. With care and a wet soapy finger it was not too difficult to smooth the top surface so it looked OK.

First I would make sure the drain hole is clear and the scuttle so that it isn't water coming over the top of the seal. From the drain hole, there should be a pipe taking any water away.

Mine has an extra drain hole made from a 'glue tube' top attached to a hose. I think this mod was common for the time and am surprised yours hasn't been done. There are lots of threads on this issue - just type scuttle in the search box.

Hi Steve
When our van is parked or pitched up, I use the long version Taylormade screens to cover the bonnet vents,no good if your driving of course.

No worries Steve.

It seems to be happening quite a lot recently. Not sure why??
