Thetford fridge help

Nuevo 2014 eK .Automatic Thetford fridge .Not working on any power source if i switch it manuely to battery I get an error !!code 6!! No other error codes . any advice please I am on site with hook up .

1. Was the fridge working before today? Has the vehicle had a habitation check since then, during which all gas and electricity cut-offs may have been turned off - check the taps, and check the RCBs on the electricity panel.

2. The fridge will only run on battery whilst the engine is running. It's not meant to run on battery when on site.

3. Is the gas supply on? Is there gas at the hob? Your 12v system is working as you can see an error message, so the gas igniter should work if there's a gas supply. But as I'm sure you know, the fridge will not work on gas until the engine has been switched off for about 15 minutes.

4. You're on hook-up. Do your sockets work? if the fridge circuit's RCB is on, then I fear there's a problem with the element.

But it's surprising that the fridge has seemingly developed at the same time a fault on both mains and gas; I'd be searching for some interruption to the supply of electricity or gas to the fridge (step 1 above).

Hi Molly you could try switching gas supply off and hope it overides your fault.

I have had a range of codes which often don't seem to have any logic. Disconnect the power and the battery and they remove them selves!

Hi do you disconnect the engine battery or leisure battery or both

I just disconnected the leisure battery and made sure the 240v wasn't connected. Hope it works for you too.

I have been in contact with my dealer it is looking like the problem is terminal ,they want to check it out first ,then order parts or new fridge . tap_fingers

£800 plus fitting , lots of miles lots of phone calls ,booked in 6 weeks , censored!

should be warrenty

£800??????? Buy a trailer with a normal fridge, you can sell ice cream on the way too. That's a shock to the system.

Would it be worth trying a few motorhome scrapyards? There's a big one in South Wales that used to have a stand at the shows.

I've no idea what they would charge for a not-very-old fridge if you could find one, but it wouldn't be £800!!

Thanks for your post ,I will wait and hope the dealers comes good with their warrenty ,after all that's why we buy from dealers I will Post the results when sorted Bazz.
