suffolk or broadway

We have a 1999 Talisman, which we love, but worried that she is getting a bit old and we do not have the diy skills to maintain her.
Have been wondering whether to upgrade to something newer (though I love what we have).
We have looked at a Suffolk (Merc 3 litre auto) and a Broadway (with rear lounge) (Pug 2.2 litre manual) .  They are similar layout and similar size, and similar price (but the Merc is 2 years older)  .  
Any advice.  I like the idea of the mercy engine (not bothered that it is auto - I am the main driver).  Is it worth paying more for the merc engine?  
I'd appreciate any feedback from owners of these, and also, should we keep our Talisman for a couple more years?
Sorry not very precise questions, but any input appreciated.

  i think you may have started a battle between owners,I have a Merc manual Surrey manuals I think are quite rare I think you cannot beat it,Most of the Ambulance services use Mercs good for 200,000miles, courier firms use them.There does seem to be some issues with rear springs/soft suspension so make sure you are happy with the ride I think you may be wrong regarding engine size Merc's are normally 2.2 ltr

Hi . Thanks . Yes  you are right. I realised the advert probably had the wrong engine size so I rang up to check .  Am I right that merc vans/ Motorhomes are rear wheel drive?

   yes the Merc's are rear wheel drive that is another reason why I choose it as I tow a 4 wheel car trailer behind it

I have drove all types of Panel vans during my working life except a Merc, have (2months) bought our first MH a Berkshire on a Merc chassis 2.2 its C1 licence so quite heavy but i can't fault it drives lovely with a smooth ride and plenty of pedal when needed.
