Executive in the Pyrenees. Empty Executive in the Pyrenees.

Yesterday 16th June on the remote and torturous D618 between St Beat and St Girons.
Negotiating the 200th hairpin bend heading west on this narrow road, we were suddenly confronted by an Executive (or similar), heading east. Hectic waving, but far too dangerous to stop. I hope the owner is a member here..

Not many of you Brits about here never mind Autosleepers ! I am on the Aire at Bagniere de Luchon this evening. 20+ vans, 1 Belgian, us Irish and the rest all French.

Heading over towards Arreau via the Col de peyresoude and on via aspin to Lac de payolle. Trying to get some respite from the heat here.

If I see you I shall wave frantically, but you won't see me as I have a Hymer these days.

Contrary to popular opinion back home we wave at everyone.

Bon route,

Davy

What a coincidence Davy. We're at the ACSI site at Salles-et-Pratviel just up the valley from you. We'll be in town tomorrow. The heat is killing, but being in the shadow of the mountains it's only sunshine 10am till 7pm!

Think I might have seen you pass by. We drove down to the Aire at Fronsac to do a bit of cycling along side the Garonne. Saw a Nuevo pass down the valley late Afternoon possibly between 4 and 5 pm.

We are back on the Aire at Luchon, probably heading Arreau tomorrow.

Look at

Might help in your planning.

Yes, that was us. Heading slowly north now, Cahors last night, now going to spend a week meandering along the Dordogne. The last few roads we've been on melted tarmac is the problem.
Take care on your travels.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. Temperatures due to drop at the end of the week. We came over the col de perysourde to Arreau and then on to Lac de Payolle. 1100m so cool at 28c with breezes. Will stay high for a few more days and make a plan after that. We still have about 5 weeks left on this trip.
