Cornish beach campsites

We are fairly new autosleeper owners so need any help we can get! My daughter and I (and our two small dogs) are thinking of taking a mid July trip to Cornwall area as we have never been there before. I can't seem to find many sites in the C&C books that are close to the beach although I'm sure that there must be some. Also any other recommendations would be gratefully received! Many thanks.

Hi , living in Cornwall we don't do a lot of our camping here! But we do go to a well recommended site Ayr holiday park in St Ives not on the beach but views to die for! Other sites we have come across really near to beaches are Pentewan sands (private beach), Porthtowan, Praa sands and Southwinds at Polzeath (really good surfing beach!) Hope you enjoy your visit and the weather is good,as it is at the moment, welcome to the forum ,and don't eat too many pasties!!!   Kind regards      Paul

Padstow is very dog friendly padstow touring park is 30 minute walk on pathways through fields

You can walk to the beach from Mother Ivy's Bay site near Padstow, and, if it's not too busy camp right on the edge of the cliff

Hi, totally agree with "Groundhog" , Im not Cornish ,ive only been here nearly 50 Yrs , but it gets more popular every year ,rightly so ,but as "Groundhog" says it is already busy ,so I would try and pick your preferred sites and try and book some to avoid disappointment, the one I mentioned in St Ives I have to book at least 4months in advance to get the pitch I like! Hi , We lived in Cornwall (Perranporth) for about ten years ,parents still live in Perranporth.
Dogs as far as i know are still allowed on the 3 miles of beach and there are two sites on the out skirts of Perranporth one is up a hill and the other is is a relatively flat walk to the bach of about half a mile.
Also a site out of Perranporth going towards Newquay  think its called Monkey tree near Goonhaven.
There is a nice bar /cafe on the beach (watering hole) can get very busy on a sunny day.
Car park on the front has a height barrier also carpark up hill  has barrier, car park at burrels garage has no barrier also car park at back of shops is ok.

Just come back from Newquay, we did go to Perrenporth, had the obligatory drink in the cafe bar on the beach, dogs were allowed, but some beaches had time restrictions and must be on a lead, some not at all from 1 May to September. I should think this weekend, not even room for a gnat on the campsites

Blue Hills Camping Nr. St Agnes. Beware DO NOT USE SAT NAV when near site, I understand some big vans have been towed up the hill with JCB's when stuck, loads of damage underneath.
Site right on coastal path, but I would book first. Other sites close by.

Are you specifically looking for a camp-site for coach-builts? You might possibly get more answers in a more general forum.

Earlier this month, I stayed at a C&MC affiliated site which was close to a beautiful little beach, just north of Sennen Cove. 

The site is Trevedra Farm, has all grass pitches, many with distant sea views, immaculate toilet and showers, a cafe/restaurant on site and most importantly for me, it was little more than 5 minutes walk with the dog, down to the beach. The path was steep, but it was worth the effort.
