Hi there, we are , Debbie Ian and Dougie, we have a 1999 Syymphony that we acquired late last year. It runs well but we have as yet not been able to get away to use it. We bought it because our dog Dougie is blind and this way we can take him on holidays without having to leave him or make special arrangements. We live in a village in Kent and are fortunate enough to have extra parking spaces at home so yearlong access is easy. Our Symphony is on a boxer chassis..... I have had a new boiler fitted because the old one was just not there. ,fitted LED interior lighting and purchased a solar panel, changed gas to Propane, fitted gas and fire alarms..
I have no idea how I can drain the main water tank which is at present giving me a lot of muck through the taps. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.. thanks guys in advance . Ian, Debbie and Dougie.

To drain fresh water tank get on your knees and look under the driver's side about half way along and you should see a tap on the side of the tank. The drain for waste tank is a pipe clipped to the inside of the sill on the same side with a tap on the end.

You probably won't want to drink straight from the tap after seeing all that muck, but it's worth sterilising the system anyway. (Surprisingly to me, some people who won't drink from the tap will happily go to the bathroom and clean their teeth - under the tap!! )

We do drink from the tap, but we know the history of the van. Before we could afford a motorhome we had second hand caravans. I always sterilised the system very thoroughly before each season, and we've never had a problem drinking the water. Probably the best advice comes from Zappy's Blog, but unfortunately the URL doesn't work. http://zappysblog.co.uk/ It did a few weeks ago, so maybe he has his site down for updating.
