tyre pressure warning light

I have a 12 month old Nuevo EK on a Peugeot Boxer Van 2.2 HDI with Continental 215/70 R Tyres.
The recommended tyre pressure being 70psi front and 79psi rear. 
I have reduced these for comfort to 62psi front and 66psi rear.
I now have a problem with a warning buzzer and light on my dashboard.
 Can I switch this off or do i have to put up with it.

After a great deal of research he got his dealer to adjust his down to a more sensible level.

With hindsight, I wish I'd got them reset even lower - say to 45 / 65.

What happens when I need new tyres? New valves = trip to dealers again?

I've just collected a new Peugeot Boxer based 'van (not AS!), and about 10 minutes after driving it off the forecourt, a warning light appeared on the dash along with the message 'tyre pressure monitoring system unavailable'. I spoke to the dealer, Marquis, who told me it needed to be investigated by a Peugeot dealer - I asked if it would compromise the warranty if it were not done straight-away, but have yet to receive a reply..... We are using the new van at present, so am not too inclined to take it to a dealer when everything else appears to be ok. I check the tyre pressures regularly and they are all ok, so am not bothered if the TPMS is 'not available', but it will be interesting to see if it can be disabled/fixed without compromising the insurance or MOT.......

I wish AS had used a Mercedes or Ford cab for my Nuevo rather than Peugeot.

Lots of issues seem to be like this with the French/Italian cabs, I've given up trying to get a spare key for it, the prices are ridiculous.

The problem I foresaw was MOT time. OK, still another 17 months before then, but if a warning light is showing, I think it might fail the MOT. I understand that there are some warnings which are not failure triggers, but the MofT seems to be tightening up all the time, and I wouldn't be surprised that a TPMS warning - whether of low pressure or of system unavailability - might lead to a fail in future if not now.

That was one of the reasons why I had my TPMS reset to the lower pressures. I also couldn't stand the beep!
