New to Motor Homes Empty New to Motor Homes

Post by Tomcat46 Wed Jun 18, 2014 5:10 pm

We are looking forward to collecting our 2011 A.S. Lancashire, it ticks every one of our... wanted in a motor home boxes......does anyone else have this model ??? We are thinking of adding a solar panel, but can we get a roof box up there as well ????
We already have a bike rack that fits a tow ball, so are thinking of fitting tow bar,  not rack.......been Tuggers ( caravaners ) for 40 years, but now looking forward to an entire change of travelling.....
Any tips from owners of this model would be very very welcome...... Thankyou.

I think our 09 plate Nuevo is similar. We added a reversing camera. It turns the rear view mirror to a screen when you engage reverse gear - perhaps the lancs has got this.
Also and 65 Watt solar panel. The panel is really only needed if you stay a few days without moving but it keeps the battery topped up when the van is parked in winter. I think your model has built in a solar controller that recharges the vehicle battery as well.

Hi Welcome to the forum I only joined recently as  we have a 2012 AS Lancashire ES, purchased Sept 2013, we are very pleased with it. We recently had a tow bar fitted as we have a 'Pendle' heavy duty bike rack that fits on it. We use this to carry a 1940's butchers bicycle to Steam rallies and classic shows.
Did ask about the possibility of solar panel on roof when in for tow bar, but as it has aerial, air conditioning unit etc on roof we were told no room!
We also have the Vango Kela tall inflatable awning, gives us a lot more space, we have taken out the inner tent that came with it.
I find it easy to drive, sometimes forget not driving the car!! My husband no longer drives as had a couple of strokes.
Good luck with your new purchase

Welcome from sunny Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Looking forward to getting back to Cornwall in August and then off to probably France. Someone has to do it.

Enjoy your new motorhome, you will not regret it, ask any questions, we are all her to help!

Ever thought about a portable solar panel if no room on the roof, they fold up pretty small. allthumbz
