Has anyone some advice on using/storing Thule Blockers. (Rain Blockers - side, Sun Blockers - side) with Omnistor canopies? We're off to France and Spain for 6 weeks, with our Bourton, in July and think we might need at least one of them! As ''newbies" we're not into canopies and their use so any advice welcomed.

Not what you are asking for -quite- but we use a packet of these:

along with a couple of silver/grey shower curtains which we bought from a Poundshop.

They fold up very small, look very good, as they match the awning, weigh little and, pegged out slightly so that they don't hang straight to the ground, did a brilliant job in Spain and Morocco in August and September. Quite a lot cheaper than a bought-in awning too. I'd post a photo but don't have an account with which to do so.

The awning hooks slide into the front of the awning and the curtain hooks neatly onto them.

Did you take the Auto-Sleeper to Morocco? If so I'm intrigued and impressed.

Hi Quilter

Thanks very much. by the way did you have any problems with the heat in Morocco, as I've recently spent 6 weeks in Benidorm and the Broadway logo started to peel off, the rain guttering with led light over the hab door started to come away and all the internal seam strips have started to come away.

Regards,

John.

We were not in the Broadway, John, but in our last van, a Bessacarr. We had no problems with the heat and the van. We fitted a small computer fan externally to help the fridge to cool down and made sure we parked with the sun off the fridge vents.  We bought a 12v Endless Breeze fan before we went. That was extremely successful though very expensive !  The solar panels were in over-drive.

One other thing we found useful was to cover all the wide-open windows with a silvered car windscreen cover ( Poundshop again....) on the outside. Each was held in place with 4  clothes pegs to clip it to the glass and reflected the sun away while allowing us to have as much air through as possible.

My husband had put silicone sealant in the bathroom many years before when the van was new ( and had not had sealant there !) and this melted and looked like some sort of creature creeping slowly across the bathroom floor.

It took us a long time to get rid of the sand and I wouldn't be surprised if the valetter found some when we part exchanged it 2 weeks ago.

We took a towrope - used 3 times- and spare air filter ( changed) with us as well as a box of spares that our cab service garage loaned us on a sale or return basis.

Wonderful country to visit though.

G

Edit: We had a puncture too, luckily a slow one which was dealt with very efficiently by the garage we went to. We had it checked when we got back and were told it was a good job.

We also fitted a fridge fan which we set on auto so that when it got to hot it kicked in, we had no problems with the fridge at all but have had the same with the sand. Great idea with the windows so I  will get that sorted, I made covers up for our tyres from silver sunshades.
Our Broadway EB has gone in today for the faults to be sorted can't wait to get it back and on our travels again, picked it up March 1st and nearly done 4000 miles already.
