Ventilation Holes Empty Ventilation Holes

Post by CC Sat Nov 10, 2012 7:02 am

Hi All....

We sometimes suffer from draughts in our Nuevo from the cab doors... where the lower door pockets are located, there are a number of holes which I suspect were put there by Auto-Sleepers for extra ventilation? Unless this is part of the original Peugeot boxer base vehicle (see pic) I've often thought about removing the door cards and covering this from behind as it's the main reason our cab area remains cool and draughty even when the rest of the van is toasty!

Placing the back of your hand against these holes you can really feel that there's a substantial draught coming inside the vehicle from outside. Does anyone else with the Peugeot Boxer X250 suffer with draughts from these holes in the door and has anyone done anything to reduce this or should I leave it as it is?

I don't think that A/S made them, more likely to be original from base-cab builder, when I fitted the electric window conversion, I duct-taped them

over on the inside whilst the door-cards were off, made a BIG difference smile!

Thinking about it, could they be openings for extra/other door -speakers??

Has the edge of the door just below the lock got vents in too? My older Boxer has, and as it was a chassis cab, they'll be for through ventilation, just like the vents cars have at the rear hidden behind the bumper.

Perhaps I should tape mine up too.

Ventilation Holes Empty draughts in cab

Hi CC,
Search draughts in cab and read about my activities there and Whisky's advice back last March, this includes tapeing up these vents.

Oh well at least I now know they are not ventilation holes that Auto-Sleeper have fitted as obviously didn't want to block them without checking first. I hope to remove the door covers over the next few days and cover them from behind then refit... was aware of the other link but my query was more in relation to and relevant to the later X250 Boxer cab winks

Thanks

CC

smile!
Thanks

Hi CC we suffer from cold draughts in the front but did not realise it was coming from behind the door cards. My wife has to put a rug over her knees whilst travelling as it is so draughty in cold weather. Please let me know if taping up the door cards makes it better. Could you also let me know how you remove the door cards.
smile!
