Broadway Water Fill Whale Pump Empty Broadway Water Fill Whale Pump

Post by CC Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:26 am

Ive looked in the Broadway hand book to try and find out about the "Dreaded" water fill used, I'm not sure if it's supplied with a whale pump as forgot to ask... So question 1, is do AutoSleeper supply one of these with the vehicle when new? Question 2, is does anyone know which model is compatible as there seem to be several different pumps? Fun times ahead hugegrins

Am I correct in thinking the Whale Truma / Carver Water Pump Assemble (EP1322) is the correct one?

Hi CC  this is what I Bought for my 2014 Broadway

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This is the filler to top up from any water container.
My Broadway also came with a few metres of hose with tap connector and whale fitting to van which automatically cuts off when tank is full from mains.

Hi again CC I also bought these marked one waste water and it lies under our van with a short piece of 1" hose to take the waste. the other I use to carry water and use the whale pump to fill onboard tank. Also bought a folding trolley from Aldi to save carrying the containers.

Ours came with both the hose and the pump. Great system, I find it works well up!

The only mod I want to do is get the blue plastic 'plug in bit' and fit a male push on fitting to it so I can plug straight on to a site hose rather than unwind my flat hose. If that makes sense scratch head

I think many of those who have had problems with this system have not read the instructions.

When you insert the blue plastic plug in bit into the water inlet on the van lift the flap up completely so that it lies flat against the side of the van. Then insert the plug, then the flap can be lowered. If you don't do this, it doesn't work properly.  You also have to switch on the 12v supply on the control panel.

We like the system and carry a clean bucket - which we carry anyway - for use when we don't want to move the van to the water filler point. The really great thing about it is that it turns off when the tank is full. This means you don't have to keep going inside, with wet shoes, to monitor the control panel and can get on with other things while it does its stuff.

Edit to add:  all the necessary bits came with the van ( new in March 2014)

Thanks for the replies all....

Our Broadway is the 2010 model on the earlier style body so older than yours, not sure if the water fillers are different or the same? As can't find any info in the handbook to suggest if it's fitted with a Truma Ultraflow or a Whale system?

I've contacted Marquis to see if the motorhome comes with a fill kit but as I never saw it it in the lockers etc I'm presuming there isn't one, so just trying to find out which it is that's fitted as I'm guessing they are not compatible with one another?

That's a shame, I let two go with my Broadway when it went on the basis that is old never ever need them again. As above, one had a blue hose attached for the tap and the other was wired into a submersible pump and used when containers were in use. A very good system and never had any issues with it. You probably have the Truma one.
